Driftwood Candle DIY

driftwood candle holder DIY

I’d had this little project in mind for years, but didn’t take the small amount of time that it took to actually sit down to do it. Until Covid-19 lockdown that is. This project is about as simple as it can get. So here we go…

Tools needed:
1 1/2″ Spade Drill Bit
Drill
A piece of drift wood or whatever you plan to put your votives in
Pen or marker
Tape measure

I started by measuring the piece of wood that I’d gotten in Baja a few years back. It was nicely weathered and I’d knew what I wanted to use if for as soon as I’d seen it. I spaced the votives equal distance apart and placed the candles in place to make sure I liked the spacing. After marking the drill points with a marker, I was off to the races.

After getting the drill bit ready the process was all pretty simple. Check it out:

Honestly, I’m sad it took me so long to do this. I have these battery votives, but look forward to some real candle light in my future. Up my mood lighting game. Now every time I see some driftwood I’ll be thinking, “Can you have too much driftwood in your house?” Time will tell.
