Meet Moxie

Moxie

After picking up Moxie, our new 2019 Forest River Flagstaff, it was time to get to know the young gal. What better way then to trek from Massachusetts to Colorado and explore all that she had to offer along the way – all 5 days. Here are some of our initial thoughts, discoveries and favorite moments…

INITIAL THOUGHTS:
One of the reasons we liked the footprint of this rig was because it had a lot of floor space. With the two of us, three dogs and who knows what in the future, we wanted to make sure we could move around and not be on top of one another.

You can pretty much get a travel trailer in whatever size you want. We went with 22′ and thought it would not be too big/too small. In the short time we’ve had her, this seems to be a good length for us. Still small enough to get places and not be cumbersome, but big enough to not feel crowded. The real test will come when I start working from this rig, with all the puppies. Stay tuned for that update.

DISCOVERIES:
We’ve been paying attention and informing ourselves of how others have taken on “life on the road”. Blogs, YouTube videos and so many other resources out there have made this a metric TON easier than just winging it ourselves. One of our favorite resources is Keep Your Daydream (KYD). We discovered Marc and Tricia a few months ago and have found endless tips that have taken out some of the guess work and kept us more sane as we start to adventure more. If you haven’t checked out their YouTube and are looking to take life on the road, do so.

FAV MOMENTS:
Much of our travel involves bringing our (now) three favorite pups on the road with us. This is now a lot easier with this rig and we look forward to many more trips/adventures with them. We love how much space we have and how much room the pop-out adds. I HAVE to also just call out how nice it is to have a bathroom. No, I don’t see us using it all the time, but just to have the option to use it “in case of emergency” is enough for me to rave about. No one likes those late night treks out into the woods with certain “issues” at play. Just no fun.

We’ve also had the opportunity to see friends and family while we were out east. It was such a great time spending some quality time and exploring places we’d never been, or hadn’t been in quite some time. It definitely makes us want to travel and hit the road a lot more. Until next time!
